Louise Gornall’s YA novel Under Rose-Tainted Skies has been optioned by Stephen Garrett and Character Seven.
The book, Gornall’s debut effort, centers on Norah, a 17-year-old girl battling severe agoraphobia and OCD. Her life changes when the cute and charming Luke moves in next door and they hit it off, but her illness stymies any romance. Published in January by Clarion, the novel has won praise for its depiction of Norah’s illness and the banter between Norah and Luke.
Character Seven was founded by British TV and film executive Stephen Garrett (The Night Manager, Life on Mars) in 2016. It is currently developing another John Le Carre adaptation, The Spy Who Came in the From the Cold, for airing in 2018.
Gornall is repped by New Leaf Literary & Media for film/tv, Mandy Hubbard of Emerald City Literary and attorney Bradley Garrett of Cohen Gardner.
