News: Fortnite’s Battle Royale total player count has equalled the population of Azerbaijan

Following on from yesterday’s news about Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode reaching 525,000 concurrent players, Epic has revealed that the game has been played by 10 million people in the past two weeks. To emphasise this point it’s also released a stylish little infographic showing off all sorts of numbers with some real world facts and references thrown in for good measure.

Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode (which is definitely not cribbing PUBG) managed to reach 3.7 million daily active users over the weekend. It’s still some ways short of a certain other game which was played by 2 million in the last 24 hours alone.

Epic’s take on the Battle Royale formula takes the large-scale last man standing game mode popularised by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and combines it with the cartoon-like destructible environments and crafting elements of Fortnite.

Anyway, any list that can reference Point Break, Return of the Jedi and Rihanna is ok in my book. Next time get some Nicolas Cage memes in there for good measure, ta.

Fortnite Battle Royale is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
